What is the minimum wear for a compression garment after flank lipo and extended medial thigh lift?

I had surgery on September 5, 2018. I have been wearing the compression garment that was provided to me by my surgeon. I keep getting awful bleeding hemorrhoids. I thought it may be the garment. I slept one night without it and was almost completely better the next day. I put it back on and can instantly feel hemorrhoids forming. Every time i have a bowel movement. The toilet is filled with blood. The garment is too big now but still gives hemorrhoids. I have tried differnt ones, same result?

It is of paramount importance that the patient follow postoperative instructions to the letter and that the compression garment is worn as instructed. Your best answer will be that provided by your PS so I recommend that you schedule a follow-up appointment with him/her to discuss your medical issues.

For my patients having liposuction and thigh lift procedures, I recommend they wear the surgical compression garment I provide for 3 weeks 24/7, then an additional 3 weeks at night only. The length of wearing compression garments usually depends on your plastic surgeon’s discretion and his assessment of your condition. Most surgeons prescribe a minimum time of two weeks, but some follow it up with secondary compression to give the best results.
In your case, I suggest that you go to your reputable and board-certified plastic surgeon and get yourself checked up. It’s uncommon for compression garments to cause bleeding hemorrhoids, so there might be another cause. It’s best to have personal consultation just to be safe.
