2 days ago a baseball hit right in my face in the area of my nose and teeth. The teeth Caleb out safe but the nose swelled up and I had initial bleeding after blowing my nose. 2 days later and it appears a bit crooked near the septum area and my mum says it is just swelling, will this get fixed? My bridge appears fine.
Answer: Consult Hello, Consultation by a board certified plastic surgeon is the only way to truly know if you have permanent damage. They will advise you whether or not you need a rhinoplasty or if it is just swelling. If you need a rhinoplasty, make sure that you get a closed scarless rhinoplasty for the best results. Through a scarless approach you can accomplish almost everything needed to be done to the nose with no scarring, less healing time, less bruising, and less swelling. Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. Trauma is a common cause of aesthetic and structural issues with the nose that can be long-lasting if you do not take action. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to determine the extent of your injury as a rhinoplasty procedure can make sure you do not experience long-term negative effects of a sports-related injury. Best wishes,

Answer: Nasal Trauma Hello, Given the fact that you were hit around the base of the nose, it is unlikely that you have a nasal fracture. Based on the base view you've provided, your septum appears to be in a midline position (normal). It is most likely your asymmetry is caused by swelling and will improve in the next few weeks. Regards,

Answer: My nose was hit with a ball and appears slightly crooked, will this get fixed? Two days after trauma to the nose there is surely a considerable amount of swelling. This is no time, unless there is major deformity, to decide there needs to be treatment. Give it a few days and if your breathing and appearance are back to where it was before, then no further treatment is needed. But if there is a change in appearance or difficulty breathing then you need to be seen in just the next few days for evaluation whether some type of surgery is necessary. I hope this information was helpful.
