What do the shedding hairs look like after a transplant?

Transplanted hairs fall out in a few weeks.  New hairs will grow out in 6 to 12 months.  You may see some growth at 3 to 4 month.  Sometimes shedding hairs may have a bent shape.

That is normal to see shedding hair in L shape or drum stick type with a scub on the tip .İt does not mean a damage.İt is not surprising to lost approx.  %70-80 of all transplanted hair shafts in first month when you are washing, gently rubbing  or touching the head. İt is shock loss and not permanent. 

Everything you described is normal. Yes you may see some growth then around the 4th week, shedding begins. You should definitely help these hairs shed by scrubbing your scalp at this point. Helping them to shed will allow the new growth to occur at or around the 3rd month. Good luck!

Everything that you've talked about sounds pretty standard. For now I wouldn't worry, simply be patient and wait for your hair to start growing back over the next year.

Following a transplant, the hairs will typically begin to shed after 2 to 3 weeks.  Five weeks is a little long, but it means you must be more aggressive scrubbing you scalp to help these hairs shed.  The hairs typically have a "J" shape.  What you are describing seems normal.
