Hi, I got infected with HIV 2 years ago and 3 months after that I have been undetectable and very healthy while I am on my medication (Truvada(PrEP) & Dolutegravir). I am concerned if I can receive hair transplant because of my HIV status. Because on the Internet, some people said yes some said no. I am also concerned about whether I can receive PRP injection on my head with the transplant as a whole treatment.
Answer: HIV and hair transplantation Hello. HIV is not a factor for recovery and hair transplantation. For many patients who have HIV, they are undetectable making transmission to others less likely, as well as operative staff utilizing universal precautions. We have operated on many HIV positive patients without any healing issues. Best, Anil Shah MD

Answer: HIV Status As long as you are in good health like you said and it's managed well there's no reason someone who is HIV positive couldn't get a hair transplant. Just make sure your doctor is aware of all factors relating to your health, including your HIV status and the medications you take for it.
