Answer: Tincture of time The Lazerlift procedure or Precision TX uses a 1440 nm laser to contour the face and neck. The facial part should not be combined with liposuction and the laser is generally only used in the upward direction towards the skin to prevent injury to the nerves that move the face. Regardless, injury to the nerve that moves the corner of the mouth is a known risk of this procedure, especially if the laser power is turned up higher than the recommended guidelines or in the hands of someone without intimate knowledge of the facial anatomy. The good news is that the injury is almost always temporary. The bad new is that it can take several weeks to several months to recover and there is no treatment that has been shown to speed up recovery. I understand that this can be a difficult and trying period. Please share your concerns with your treating physician so that he can follow your progress.

Answer: LazerLift Facial Complications If this procedure involved laser liposuction to your face or neck, it is possible that the heat from the laser damaged the fat lining around your facial nerves causing motor nerve weakness to the muscles that move the lip. It is also possible that there has been some trauma to the nerve from the procedure. This condition usually resolves on its own as the nerve regenerates its myelin sheath (the fatty lining around the nerve fibers). It may take several weeks to months to fully recover, but most people recover almost all of their function. Be patient, there isn't really anything that will quicken the recovery other than time.

Answer: Temporary nerve malfunction after a facelift are almost always temporary. I'm not sure I know which you mean by laser lift. The muscles of facial expression should not be directly injured during the facelift. However tension in swelling can create temporary minor disturbances.

Answer: Facelift recovery questions Not sure what you mean by Lazer Lift, but it sounds like it might be a form of laser liposuction? If so, it may be possible that the laser affected some of the nerves that operate the facial muscles. When this happens with a facelift (which is not very often) it usually recovers. These types of post-op questions are always best directed to your own plastic surgeon, who will know the details of the procedure and be able to advise you as to what to expect.
