I had submental liposuction and ThermiTight done on my "gobbler" about a month ago. I understand that results can take a while...no problem with that....but just want to know what I can do to make sure I get the best results from the procedure(s). I currently use a compression while I sleep, but should I add some type of cream, lotion, ointment (or ?) to help get the "best" results? I saw my Doctor yesterday...LOL...but forgot to ask...! =(
Answer: Can I further improve my neck after ThermiTight? Although it generally takes about 6-8 months to see your final result, during that time there are ways to further improve your neckline results following a ThermiTight procedure. We have begun combining topical chemical peels as well as micro needling to help further improve skin tone and potentially enhance skin tightening. You can also use micro droplet BOTOX and fillers to the lines and wrinkles for an even greater effect.I hope that helps!

Answer: ThermiTight and liposuction for the double chin ( turkey neck); my approach in my NYC practice Most patients develop good results from a combination of liposuction for fat removal and ThermiTight for skin tightening of the neck. I have noticed in my NYC practice over twenty years of dealing with non surgical procedures to improve the neck that there are three main variables anatomically that create patient dissatisfaction with their necks. 1. Inherited Fat Pad2. Loose muscle bands3. Crepy sagging skinEach patient seems to have a different pattern, some not having much fat at all, some not having much muscle looseness and some not exhibiting bad skin elasticity. For the patient who has a combination of moderate fat pad and loose skin, performing liposuction and ThermiTight has been a good treatment option. Of course, there are some patients who are not candidates for non surgical treatment as their muscle sagging or skin sagging requires a true surgical neck lift to obtain a very good result. Maximizing one's result from ThermiTight involves the initial compression as recommended by your doctor, good nutrition (making sure you're not vitamin C deficient as collagen formation requires vitamin C - but don't take too much of any vitamin and check with your doctor) and making sure you don't smoke or inhale second-hand smoke before and after your procedure. Collagen production may be enhanced by the use of SkinMedica's Essential Serum's fibroblast growth factor and Alastin, a new product, that may improve one's elastin which gives skin its elastic property. The information provided in Dr. Shelton's answer is for educational purposes only and is not intended to constitute medical advice. Answer: Healing following Submental Liposuction and ThermiRF / ThermiTIGHT Dear acbell40:Yes, there are things you can do to speed up and improve the appearance and duration of your cosmetic investment.I find the art in non- and minimally invasive procedures to achieve their very best result and longevity is help the regenerative and reparative body healing process to work their magic.Pre-procedural skin care will stimulate, control and regulate the repair process before these minimally invasive options are performed and provide a faster healing process.Following submental liposuction and ThermiTIGHT, compression with a foam "conformer" to provide even and comfortable pressure for 1 to 2 weeks has been the most helpful in reducing swelling and bruising. Thereafter, continue massage to reduce edema and assist the collagen formation and directional tightening with firm, lymphatic massage in an upward direction for 6 to 12 weeks or more.Continue stimulation and proper regulation of the healing tissues with retinol supplementation. We recommend Dr. Obagi's ZO Skin Health RetaMax and Body Emulsion.Weight loss during the time of healing reduces inflammation, edema and the lumpiness associated with healing.I hope this is helpful. All the best!
