If the skin does not show sensitivity or redness after Ultherapy treatment, there should be little effect on results from sun exposure. BUT, sun exposure is known to age skin, lead to laxity, and cause lines and creases.SO, why would you spend your hard-earned money on Ultherapy to rejuvenate the skin, then want to lay out in the sun????Sometimes, a little self-tanner goes a long way!
As a dermatologist, I have to advise that no tan is a safe tan. While the results of Ultherapy won't be affected by sun exposure nor will it make you more likely to burn, if you care about your looks enough to have Ultherapy done, why damage and age your skin by tanning it? Skin cancer is also a risk of tanning.
While sun exposure may feel good, it isn't a good idea after any procedure as it causes collagen, the building block of your skin, to decrease. This, in turn, leads to wrinkles. So it may actually reverse all the good things that the Ultherapy is trying to do. But, if you wish, you can spray tan if that is acceptable as that is perfectly fine. Good luck!
I would not recommend exposing the area treated by Ultherapy to the sun for about 3 days. If you went in the sun during this time, you should use sunscreen and keep the treated area in the shade.
It is not recommended. Any treatment to the skin makes your skin more sun sensitive. I would recommend a good sunscreen to protect your skin anytime you will have sun exposure.
Hi,Ultherapy is pigment blind procedure so there is no injury that would cause hyper pigmentation. You are perfectly safe to go into the sun with a SPf45 sunscreen of course!!;)Warmly,Dr. Grace Liu
Ultherapy rejuvenates the skin, but sun exposure can cause the skin to lose elasticity and cause wrinkles, so I would try to avoid unnecessary sun exposure. In most cases, I would advise patients against sun exposure in the days immediately following Ultherapy. If you do decide to go out, I highly recommend applying sunscreen to the treated areas of the face.
I would wait 2-3 days before getting a lot of sun like that. It is also important to be safe in regards to the amount of sun you expose yourself to.
If you are spending that hard earned money on Ultherapy, think again about sun exposure. I would probably wait a day or two before exposing your skin to a healthy dose of sun. My suggestion would be a good SPF, my aesthetician likes the new SPF aerasol in at least 50 to easily spray your shoulders and back. Use one of thespecial SPF formulas for your face and wear a wide brimmed hat.........you'll thank me later.
Yes you can go out and lay in the sun but I recommend it a day or two later. There may be some redness after and it would important to discern whether it is from the sun or Ultherapy. You can tan a week later. Read the ultherapy book.
Yes it is safe, many people do have veneers or caps. the ultrasonic energy is no concentrated at the depth of the teeth.
Yes, Ulthera can be used for wrinkles and fine lines under the eyes. There is a transducer that can help superficial wrinkles around the eyes and the lips. It targets 1.5 mm under the skin's surface. It takes approximately 3-6 months to see results from Ulthera treatments.
It's very unlikely that Ultherapy is causing the symptoms you've described. Ultherapy uses ultrasound beams to tighten and smooth the skin. It will not damage your lymphatic drainage system.
