I had Restylane injected on my lips 3x. Filler leaked above upper lips each time, creating lumps. Should I switch fillers?

The bumps give a wrinkle-like appearance when I speak and don't go away with time. Perhaps a filler that is thicker than Restylane would prevent leakage? If so, what filler is recommended. Note that I have very think skin.

Hi @ amb401! Swelling can take up to two weeks to resolve. You can try applying a cold compress and sleeping with your head elevated to minimize the swelling. If you are unhappy with the results after two weeks, you can dissolve the filler with Hyaluronidase. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Thank you for your question, shellyjane! I would avoid taking the Ibuprofen until at least 48-72 hours after injection. Stick to Tylenol for now. Good luck!
