It's too early to make value judgments with only 1 week after a rhinoplasty. Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity. In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months. To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you. It is very common to have clogged pores involving the nasal skin following splint removal. This is the result of having tape on the skin, obstructing normal skin function, for a week or more. I commonly give my patients a months supply of skin care pads that contain a combination of glycol acid, salicylic acid and mandolin acid in order to help clean out their pores and restore their nasal skin to its normal state. The pads must be used very gently, however, as the nose is quite fragile at this time.

Thank you for your inquiry. What you are experiencing is completely normal. You will have to wait until your nose is less sensitive. An average timeline is 3 weeks. The strips shouldn't be dangerous, and will help rid you of your blackheads. However i highly advise against any facials for at least 3-6 months. Best of luck

It is not uncommon to have pimples/blackheads upon removal of the nasal cast.  Manipulation of them in the early postop period will result in increased swelling and could compromise the surgery.  Please check with your surgeon as to his/her recommendation.  The timing depends upon what was performed i.e. hump reduction vs nasal tip work with or without grafts.  Good luck
