A tummy tuck can be done for you and will remove part of he old scar. However there will be a new scar across the lower abdomen. I think it will improve the appearance considerably but only you can determine if it is worth the additional scar involved.
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. It would be helpful to view your entire abdomen. You may be a candidate for a tummy tuck, which could completely remove this vertical scar. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Hello,Your scar is noticeable because it is adherent to the muscle wall, giving a deep depression. This can be made flat, with a much finer scar. Go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons who specialize in body contouring. Best of luck!
Thank you for the question and photo. It is difficult to answer your question without examining you however from reviewing your photo you maybe a candidate for a lipo abdominoplasty. It is best to consult a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your safest options. Good luck.
Dear SharV90,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination but based on your photo, it looks like you mill benefit from tummy tuck and scar revision of your existing vertical scar. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
Thanks for your question. I have done many vertical Tummy Tuck incisions which have the traditional horizontal incision but also have a vertical portion which takes out the old scar. It’s a great operation for anyone with a similar scar like the one in the photo. Best wishes, Dr. Aldo
plan on having an anchor tummy tuck that will allow its removal and to hopefully provide a better outcome. Your scar should be a marked improvement over where you are starting.
Your vertical scar may be amenable to improvement with a vertical scar revision (cut the old scar out, free up the side tissues and bring them together to hopefully form a thinner new scar), or you may be a candidate for abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) to remove the portion that is below the belly button. You would still have some of your old vertical scar remain but it could be repositioned below your new belly button relocation depending on how much laxity you have. Only exam in the office will allow the surgeon to properly assess this and offer you options.
Yes, you should be able to have a TT with a peptic ulcer and hiatal hernia. The TT is unrelated. Tightening the rectus muscle can increase your reflux, however. Your peptic ulcer should be controlled as well. A consultation with a board certified PS would be in order as well as an approval to pr...
Thank you for your question.RF is useful ti tighten skin by stimulating collagen. I do not believe it changes any healing or recovery. Please talk to your PS
This is not unusual and things will improve. I would not be concerned at present but only your PS will be able to reassure you.
