It is extremely rare for properly placed intramuscular buttock implants to flip (like a pancake). Older “tear drop oval” style implants can and do rotate frequently. Thus, if your problem is truly a flipped implant then a new pocket is recommended and this will require surgery. If the implant is only rotated then it may be manually manipulated without surgery to set it upright again...although it will likely rotate again, thus surgery to exchange a tear-drop implant for a Stanton Anatomic implant is recommended. Glad to help.
Dear tmarie143,the cost of surgery depends on a lot of factors (type of surgery, number of treated areas, anesthesia fee, surgeon, facility fee, city, etc.). It would be the best to visit or call plastic surgery offices and ask for a price.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
this usually means the pocket is too large for the implant. you can either replace it for a larger implant or your surgeon can make the pocket tighter to avoid this from happening again.
