How do i know when i should buy a smaller faja ?

Question

how will i know when it is time to switch to a smaller / tighter faja. I am 6 weeks post op Vaser lipo ( waist 360, lower, mid and upper back )and still discomfort and swelling. My faja fits but is not tight. Should i invest in buying a small one ? the one my doctor gave me zips up on the sides and the side panels have been so uncomfortable, since day one.

Typically you should be using a smaller garment 4-6 weeks post surgery. However, your doctor would ultimately determine this. I suggest reaching out to the rendering surgeon asap. Best, Dr. Emer.

This is something you should discuss with your provider. In my practice I asked patients to wear compression garments for two weeks and only longer if they wish to.  Compression garments will not change your results.  It's inappropriate for other providers to change your postoperative instructions.  In my practice you would not be wearing a compression garment at this time. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.

Hi and welcome to our forum!
The purpose of a compression garment is to prevent bleeding and to control swelling. Every plastic surgeon has his / her own individual protocol which is based upon  years of experience. I recommend you speak with your plastic surgeon for specific advice regarding garment tightness and duration of compression.
