Post-op is two days after surgery. Should I travel the two hours back home or stay in a hotel? I'm worried I won't be comfortable in a hotel immediately following surgery. But I'm also worried about the ride home and if something should go wrong I'm two hours away from my surgeon. What should I do?

Answer: Consult Your Surgeon As you've said, both options have some disadvantages. However, sitting in a car for 2 hours after a major surgical procedure -- and then having to make the round-trip again just 2 days later -- sounds like the least attractive alternative. If staying at a hotel is an option for you, that would probably be best. But these are the kinds of issues that are best discussed with your plastic surgeon, who will know all the specifics of your care. Best of LuckDr. Romanelli

Answer: Traveling After a Mommy Makeover This is something that you should discuss with your surgeon. Depending on how much surgery is to be done, in most cases I would prefer my patient to stay nearby with a responsible adult to care for you for the first day or two. Good luck.
