I'm in my late 20s and 6' tall, I was at one point 240lbs, but I've maintained my weight at 160lbs for the past 3 years. Unfortunately my breasts did not shrink in size as much as I would have hoped, and I continue to be a 36DD. My question is, how likely is it that a surgeon would be willing to take my request seriously? (I have wanted very small breasts since puberty.) And how possible would it be for them to reduce them that greatly without requiring multiple surgeries? Thank you.
Answer: Ideal Candidate for Breast Reduction Because you've proven that you can maintain a healthy weight and your breasts remain too large for your frame, you seem to be an ideal candidate for breast reduction surgery. I believe you'd get good results from the procedure. While it's difficult to plan the surgery using cup sizes, a reduction from a DD to a B should make for a straightforward procedure. I don't see any reason why you would need to undergo multiple surgeries.

Answer: Breast reduction Yes, yes! You are a great candidate for a breast reduction, and can easily go to a B cup size in one surgery. I ask that you keep a few things in mind as a young woman wanting this surgery. If you have plans for having kids in the future - that your breast size with change with pregnancy and breast feeding, so be prepared for future changes in breast size. Also, your ability to breast feed may be affected - not that you won't be able to breast feed. More that your milk supply may be low, and that you may need to supplement. If you don't have plans for having kids in the future, then I wouldn't worry about this. If you have shoulder, back and neck pain from the size of your breasts, you may even be able to get it covered by insurance. Please find a board-certified plastic surgeon who you feel comfortable with. All the very best to you.

This can often be covered by our insurance if you have neck pain, back pain, bra-strap grooving.
