When I was 14 years old I got a labiaplasty and I am now 20. Too much labia was removed and the only "labia" I have is what covers my clitoris. Below that there is no labia. I suffer from swelling during and after sex as well as some minor tears. I'm sure there isn't anything I could do, but I just thought I would see if anyone has ideas. this has affected me negatively since I had it done. Thank you
Answer: Can you improve the labia once too much is removed? Dear JP41 Thanks for sharing your question. In some instances, it might be possible to reconstruct the amputated labia minora with suitable local tissue such as the clitoral hood skin. These operations are tricky and not always successful but you need to have a clinical examination to assess the existing tissues. This falls into the reconstructive surgery category (using flaps of tissue) and not just a revision labioplasty.

Answer: Labia reconstruction As the inventor and innovator of the wedge technique in 1994, I reconstruct many women who have had labia reductions by other surgeons, both wedge and trimming techniques. The reconstruction technique depends on the deformity. Reconstruction is more difficult than a primary labiaplasty and should be done by a plastic surgeon with extensive experience in labia reconstruction. I published the first and most extensive paper on labia reconstruction in the prestigious journal "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery" about eleven years ago. You may need various reconstructive techniques to give you a good appearance. If you have adequate clitoral hood, labia minora can be reconstructed with clitoral hood flaps, which I invented and published in that journal article. In this surgery, I take the remaining tissue of your clitoral hood and transfer it downward to create labia minora. I have done this surgery about 60 times with excellent results. The surgery takes about 3+ hours so it is not a simple office procedure. If any surgeon reduces more of your clitoral hood, you will be ineligible for this repair. You only get one good chance to reconstruct you, so be patient and ask a lot of questions. I suggest you email photos of your genitalia for me to evaluate. Gary J. Answer: Removing too much tissue from the labia minora Hi, removing excess labia is really hard to come back, but if you can send a picture I can give you a better idea. This is how it is done in barbie aesthetics and I do not recommend it to my patients.
