I want to get a tummy tuck I get anxiety attacks after surgery. When I got my surgery 8 months ago I woke up good and then I got panic attack and my pressure when up. I know I have to calm myself down but is there any medicine that could do that for me when I wake up from surgery? I just get very very anxious!!! I hate that feeling
Answer: Anxiety attacks Thank you for the question. You anxiety over surgery is quite common. I often prescribe a mild anti anxiety medicine for patients to use before or after surgery. If you use something like Valium to calm your nerves before surgery, you will be much less likely to have problems after surgery. Each patient is different and you should discuss your situation with your surgeon. Best of luck!

Answer: Is there anything that could calm me when I wake up from surgery? For my panic attacks ? I appreciate your question. Best to discuss with your plastic surgeon and anesthesiologist. The anesthesiologist should call you the night before surgery to review your medical history so you can mention your concerns at that time. Discuss with your plastic surgeon prior. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery. best of luck! Answer: Anxiety attachks after surgery Hi, Mommy 760. It is not uncommon to be anxious before or after surgery. Please tell your plastic surgeon and anesthesiologist about your last (post) surgical experience. Your plastic surgeon can give you anti-anxiolytics for before and after surgery. Your anesthesiologist can give you medication to minimize your anxitery attack prior to you waking up. Best wishes.

Answer: Anxiety Post Surgery Hello Mommy 760, It is not uncommon to have anxiety before or after surgery. There are very good medications to treat anxiety and relax the patient. I would discuss your concerns with the plastic surgeon and find out what their anesthesiologist recommends. All the best.
