There is typically a moderate degree of facial swelling after the placement of facial implants. Cheek implants, typically placed via an intraoral approach, will cause the patient's midface to appear swollen and puffy. The majority of swelling typically resolves in 2-3 weeks, but I explain to patients that subtle changes in cheek contour will be seen for up to 3-6 months after surgery as residual swelling resolves. Good Luck
USUALLY THIS TAKES ABOUT 3-4 WEEKS TO BE HEALED BUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS TO FULLY HEAL, CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN TO GO OVER PROCEDURE AND RECOVERY
Cheek implants are placed through an intra-oral approach, above the gum line, so there is no external incision. The Cheeks do become quite swollen and puffy after placement of the cheek implants for approximately 2 weeks. For more information and many examples, please see the link and video below
Typically, the swelling from cheek implant performed through an intra-oral approach will be a week or 2. You will however, have slight swelling for several months that people most likely will not notice. You will notice it, but most people will not. You may not be able to whistle or use a straw perfectly for a couple of months.
