Large pores can be improved but not eliminated. Options include microneedling, fractionated laser treatment, or intense pulsed light therapy.
Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best,Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
I suggest seeing a cosmetic dermatologist to get you on a long term plan with lasers, microneedling/prp, salt facials, peels, and skin care. Best, Dr. Emer.
No, pores can be decreased but true pore sizing can not be permanently removed. I choose a particular laser based upon the size of the pore, skin type of the patient, and expectations. I find that the most reliable method is with INFINI RF, micro needling using energy. This beats all my Fraxel lasers and chemical peel techniques. Very little downtime, and it is ideal for small to medium size pores. Fraxel 1927 comes in a close second in the high density setting. Chemical peels such as TCA (70-100%) placed focally in the pores is an excellent treatment for large pores. Fully ablative laser are excellent, but the downtime is long. I use both erbium and CO2. Fractional CO2 medium density can work, but you require 3-6 sessions. More in the pore section in the web reference below. Pore size reduction treatments should be tailored according to the patient.Regards Dr Davin Lim Laser and aesthetic dermatologist Brisbane, Australia.
Swelling after a fractional laser treatment is very normal. Most inflammation goes down with in 24/72 hours. You can use cool compresses and/or take an ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation. If the swelling keeps getting worse after a couple of days I would call your provider and let them know.
Lasers can hit syringomas with pin point accuracy whilst minimising the damage to the surrounding skin. Having said that, I DO use diathermy or hyfrecation in patients without insurance. Done carefully with low wattage and dwell time, it can be effective. Lasers however is the the Gold St...
It sounds like you are experiencing normal healing following fractional nonablative laser treatment. The post procedure skin care regimen is very important. Discuss this with your doctor.
