After carrying a 9lb baby and being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, it has been hard trying to get things back to “normal”. I weighed 130 before I got pregnant. Went up to almost 180 and now am down to 155. It’s has been very hard trying to loss the stomach fat and tightening everything back up. I have looked in coolsculpting but it is going to be expensive and I’m not sure if it will tighten the skin. What are some options that could help?

Answer: Options to reduce stomach CoolSculpting can be successful in reducing areas of unwanted fat but it will not tighten the skin. Your best option is most likely surgical since a tummy tuck can address the unwanted fat and skin.

Answer: Best stomach reducing option? Congratulations on your successful weight loss thus far! Based on your photographs, it is clear to that you should undergo a full tummy tuck procedure in order to achieve the best outcome possible. I would strongly recommend that you do not undergo a "less invasive" procedure; in other words, you will very likely be disappointed with the outcome of any procedure other than tummy tuck surgery. Generally speaking, anxiety prior to surgery is very normal; its complete elimination is usually not possible. Assuming you have chosen your plastic surgeon carefully, other important "variables" such as anesthesia provider and surgery facility will be selected based on everyone's first priority: safety. This careful selection should give you some peace of mind that you will be safe around the time of surgery. Generally speaking, the “ideal” patient for tummy tuck surgery is one who has completed pregnancies, is psycho socially/emotionally/financially stable, has an excellent social support system surrounding him/her, is capable of arranging enough recovery time, does not smoke and who has reached a long-term stable weight. My best suggestion: seek consultation with board-certified plastic surgeons who can demonstrate significant experience helping you achieve the type of outcome you will be pleased with. Best wishes.
