I had a breast augmentation about 4 months ago. I have 400cc silicone implants sub muscular. I was originally a A/B cup and now I am a 34D. I have a so called "double bubble", but only when I flex my pectoris muscle. Is this something that needs to be fixed?
Answer: Double Bubble Thank you for your question. Some animation and deformation of the implant when flexing is completely normal when the implants are placed submuscularly. If it is not visible at rest, it most likely is not a true double bubble. The decision of whether it should be fixed is really based on how much it bothers you. If this is something that is keeping you from fully being satisfied with your result you should discuss it with your surgeon. This issue can usually be easily corrected with a revision surgery.

Answer: "Double bubble" when flexing pectoris muscle. Is this something I should fix? I'm 4 months post BA. Thank you for sharing your question and congratulations on your augmentation. Without a full series of photographs it is difficult to offer definite advice as you may not have a double bubble but rather animation deformity as a result of your pectoralis muscle moving your implant with contraction. If your implant is not malpositioned on your chest the only way to correct animation deformity is to place the implant above your muscle in a revision procedure. If the animation does not bother you then you need not seek correction. Hope this helps.

Answer: Double bubble Hello, some movement of implants can happen when they are placed under the muscle. Whether you want them changed depends on the severity of the issue and if your surgeon feels it can be improved with further surgery.

Answer: Double bubble during animation Hello lwhited12, I am afraid you should accept this situation or you should ask your plastic surgeon to correct it. I do not think that it will disappear by time. Regards.

Answer: Breast implant animation deformity Hello and thank you for your excellent question. It sounds as though you have a breast animation deformity. If the implant is in the wrong position, or if there is abnormal scarring around it, you can have issues similar to the ones you describe. I suggest that you seek in-person evaluation with a plastic surgeon, if you are concerned. Preoperative visualization and surgical simulation with the Crisalix system may help with your decision. Any treatment plan should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation in person with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
