Timeline 5 Weeks post op - why do I see no evidence of dropping/settling of implants? (photos)

You are still early in your post operative recover period from placement of rather large implant.  Your tissues will gradually stretch to accommodate your implants and your look with soften with time.   You should continue to discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon and follow his or her recommendations.  I would expect to see significant changes between now and 4-6 months following your surgery so try to be patient with your results as your body heals.  

Part of the unusual appearance of the breasts is the use of high profile prostheses. Even without the use of this type of breast implant swelling can artificially support the volume of the prosthesis for many weeks after the augmentation. Keep in touch with your plastic surgeon.

Thanks for the question. Its early in your post op to talk about final results. Its normal to have the implants in  a high position till the swelling goes down. I recommend you to be patient and to follow your surgeon advices. If after 6 months still like that, send your photos to us to give you more advices. Kind regards

Typically, the drop and fluff process will take between 2-6 months and with larger implants, you may be on the slower end of the average. I recommend that you wait a few more months to evaluate results and let your Plastic Surgeon know if you have concerns in the meantime.All the best

Thank you for your question and photographs. After placement of implants, the appearance of the breasts will change dramatically over the next several months, as the implants drop, and the overlying tissue stretches to accommodate the extra volume. In your case the swelling from surgery is flattening your implants and holding them high on your chest.  As the swelling resolves, the volume within the implant will redistribute towards the lower portion of your breast achieving a more natural appearance.  For most women this dropping begins to take place 6-8 weeks after surgery, but as you had large implants placed it may be delayed a bit longer.   I know waiting is difficult, but judge your results at 4-6 months after surgery as most of your breast changes should have occurred by then. Hello, it appears that your implants are still sitting higher on your chest, but as you have already pointed out, they can settle for 3-6 months or sometimes longer.  Your surgeon can follow your progress with you to ensure they settle.

Thank you for your question.At 5 weeks, you are still very early in the healing process. I agree I do not see much change in implant position, but I would not worry at this point. You have a large implant in place and it takes a while for the body to get used to that and relax around it. Over the next few weeks you will start to see the implants begin to settle. Keep in mind, it can take 6 months sometimes longer before they start to "feel" normal. Good luck with healing.

I am sorry that your results are not up to your expectations. You had mild sagging and your  implants placed high and I do not think that they will come down by themselves. I would suggest trying breast straps to push implants down. You can feel lack lower pole expansion by the implants.You may need revision if not improved . Please see the link

You are still in the early days of healing and you look as if you got large implants. These sometimes take longer to drop. Definitely share your concerns with your surgeon, but I think that the only thing that you can do right now is be patient. Best of luck --

You have very large and tall implants, and it will take a while for your tissues to relax and let the implants settle. Please discuss any concerns you have with your surgeon. Your complete healing time is up to one year.
