Liposuction of the body will create bruising and swelling and leave an incision scar. It is hard to predict how patients will recover and how fast the bruising and swelling will go away. I recommend Arnica for my patients to help with the bruising along with walking after surgery for circulation. Good luck.
Hi,Thanks for your question. It is certainly possible he will be able to see evidence of your liposuction. Follow scar care recommendations of your plastic surgeon to minimize scarring. You may still have bruising, swelling and tenderness.
At 2 weeks you still may have some bruising, swelling and tenderness. Your incisions although small also may not be completely healed. My advice- Turn off the lights or tell him.
It's possible that things will be healed, but the incision pointes may not be completely hidden just yet.
shi90. I appreciate your concern but there may be some residual bruising, and definitely some swelling 2 weeks after liposuction. The bruising can be camouflaged by makeup and clothing, and even the swelling should not be too obvious after 2 weeks. The other option; tell him. He should respect your desires to look and feel better. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
You may have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. You may also have some bruising. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. you will have bruising and swelling still at 2 weeks. You will also have to be wearing your garment to help with the swelling.
In general, by 2 weeks the visible bruising has mostly resolved, although there still may be areas of mild discoloration. The incisions will certainly still be red in color as these take months to resolve. In addition, depending on the type of liposuction performed (e.g., conventional, laser liposuction, etc), there will most likely be areas of firmness under the skin which are palpable and can take weeks to months to resolve as well. To be completely accurate, however, this is something that you definitely should discuss with your doctor. Your surgeon has the benefit of having taken a full medical history, performed a complete physical examination, and knows the details of your planned surgery.
Recovery will vary based upon the amount of liposuctioned fat. The result will depend upon that amount as well as the skill with which it is removed to maintain a smooth contour.Swelling and bruising normally resolves within two weeks, but swelling can last as long as six months. Every patient is different, and every surgery is different. Ask your PS about length of time to wear compression garment.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
You might be able to pull this off. There will be evidence that the procedure occurred. It depends on how observant he is. You will need to be prepared to tell the truth or come up with an imaginative story.
If you have any infection that would preclude you to have elective surgery in my opinion. I would repeat blood tests and speak to the dental professional to see exactly the type of dental issues you are having. Why have you NOT told our chosen surgeon yet??

Liposuction with the smaller canulas under local does great for the inner thighs and knees and has a quick recovery.
