Botox made my lip drop too low, what do I do? (Photo)

Question

This is my third time getting a lip flip combined with a small unit of Botox next to my left nostril as the left side of my top lip is much higher than the right. The first time it looked great! Now it’s the third time getting it done and the left side of my lip has dropped so low and my smile is slanted.I am so sad. What can I do? Can I massage the area to make it fade faster? I know it lasts 3-6 months, but when will it START to fade?

Hello, and thank you for your question. Unfortunately, Botox results aren’t reversible, and you will need to wait for its effect to wear off within 3-4 months. You may start to see improvement a bit sooner, as the neuromodulator begins to lose its effect. I highly recommend only seeking treatments from a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with extensive experience with injectables. Such experts will know how much product to use and precisely where to inject it to achieve the most natural-looking results. I'm sorry that you are having issues since your Botox treatment.  The results will fade gradually and should be resolved by about three to four months.  You will probably start seeing improvement after about 8-10 weeks.
