It is always best to discuss your options with your operating Surgeon. We often offer overnight stay for patients who live further away from a surgical facility. Usually, tummy tucks are outpatient- so as long as you follow all of your Surgeon's post op instructions- you should be ok.
For patients that have a ride of more than 20 minutes or so aftersurgery, we recommend to stay the night at a close-by location, with a nurse,or in a medical facility, so they do not have to go through the traffic and thebumps and so on.If that is not anoption, then something that can put the patient in as comfortable of a positionas possible that does not put tension on either incision.
