With a BMI of 24.6, you are within the guidelines considered safe for tummy tuck/ abdominoplasty. In general, it is contraindicated to operate on people with a BMI greater than 30. I congratulate you for losing the weight… It will make for a safer operation with much better results. What is important is to hold off on surgery until your weight has stabilized, and been stable for at least three months.I wish you the best.
I appreciate your question. Its hard to give you an answer without a photo. The best rule is to get down to your lowest weight possible or desirable before your surgery. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery.best of luck!Dr Schwartz
All that is really required is that you are at the weight you plan to maintain. You do not have to lose 20 more pounds unless you know you can and its relatively easy for you. Even Oprah, with her own trainer and cook, couldn't keep the weight off forever. So find that happy place for you and your body and have your surgery when you know your lifestyle will help you maintain your weight easily.
Thank you for your question. BMI of 24-25 indicate you can have TT. It also depending on your weight goal and your health status. Pl consult aboard certified PS for evaluation.
Thank you for the question. From the standpoint of your BMI (24.6) you should be a good candidate. However the only way to know if you truly qualify for a tummy tuck is to consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for an in-person examination and a discussion of your goals. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
It is important to have a stable weight before body contouring such as tummy tuck. For best results, seek out surgery when you are at your healthy best, but don't force yourself to lose weight before surgery only to gain it back after. Your plastic surgeon will be able to discuss your options in detail so you can make the right decisions. Your height, weight, and BMI do not appear prohibitive for cosmetic surgery.
Hello. Your BMI is normal so depending upon your expectations a full TT is the procedure you should research. There is no need to lose additional weight. Provided that you're healthy you can proceed. Good luck. Dr. B
As long as you are in excellent health and are a non-smoker, you are probably in a reasonable range for a tummy tuck. Best to be 10-15 pounds from ideal weight and you might well be there now.
At 5'3" and 139# you are fine for a tummy tuck, but without an exam or good photos there is no way to give you any advice on whether it is a good surgery for your anatomy.
Although it would help to see a photo, and even more to examine you in person, at your current weight of 139 lbs. you would appear to be a good candidate for a tummy tuck and not need to wait until further weight loss.
With this surgery once the skin of your abdomen is approximated and sutured the lower half is pulled up. The only way for this to be lessened was to have your tummy tuck scar as low as possible, which your plastic surgeon probably did. Give yourself more time to heal, let the scars settle and...
The swelling is definitely noticeable. If you're not wearing garments any longer and have been out and about during the day, the swelling can become more prominent. Try wearing the stage 1 garment from right after surgery, if it's still tight enough, to see if it helps. Also, address this...
Probably. However it all depends on the ingredients and the constituents of the substance that you are using. You should consult with your plastic surgeon to make sure that there are no issues with regard to healing.
