Is the raised skin above my lip due to filler or is it due to having previous patch of dry skin in that area? (photos)

Question

On the left side above my top lip my skin seems to be raised. In some lights I can see that it looks like a lump. It is not itchy or red. Previously I had a patch of dry skin in that area for which I was prescribed hydrocortisone cream. It is no longer itchy or red but the skin is raised. I have had my lips done a few times now using Juvederm. I am wondering if it may be some filler that has somehow ended up above my lip either injected wrong or migrated? It feels a lot thicker than other side.

From the pictures it looks like a small amount of filler that was placed above the red part of the lip. I would recommend a visit with your injector. I know that the small area is particularly bothersome to you, but the overall shape and size of your lips are very nice.I hope this helps.- Dr. Bryson Richards

Based on my experience and your photos, it appears this is probably some filler. I would recommend following up with your injector. This may resolve with massage or you may choose to have hyaluronidase injected in that area to dissolve the product.

Dear Jenny, I would assume that this is injected material and not related to your previous dry skin patch. I would see your injecting physician and discuss your concerns. Your lips are full at this point and I would warn that you should probably not have any more injections to the lips for some time in order to keep a more natural appearance. Best regards, Michael V. Based on the photos, it appears to be a bit of filler that traveled.  It can happen.  See your injector for follow-up.  You may have a bit of hyaluronidase to dissolve it.
