Knowing the backstory as to why I decided to do this for myself is important. In March 2020 I was diagnosed with aggressive stage 3 breast cancer and had a bilateral mastectomy. Additionally, I endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. Not only that, I had to start taking an aromatose inhibitor (and will continue taking it for at least 3-4 more years). All that being said, before the cancer I was healthy. Afterwards, no matter what I seemed to do or try I started “looking” my age. Sigh… After seeing a friend who had FaceTite and the amazing results, I decided to reach out to Dr. Maguire’s office for a consultation. I first met with Marilyn who is absolutely incredible. She took the time to ask about my journey, goals, hesitations…you name it! Marilyn explained the process step by step — the good, the bad, and the ugly (you know, the part where it takes time and patience and results WILL come…eventually). Since nothing else had worked, I decided to go forward. The day of the procedure Kelly (Dr. Maguire’s nurse) got me all settled in and made me feel so at ease. Let me just say, every single person in Dr. Maguire’s office is warm, kind, and lovely. (To me, this speaks volumes about Dr. Maguire as well.) During the procedure, both Dr. Maguire and Kelly walked me through each step always “checking in” to see if I was okay. Please be sure to look at the pictures I’ve included. It’s important to see that, yes, I looked a bit like Professor Mellonhead (from The Muppets) for nearly 2 weeks. Since I had read online where people claimed to “look fabulous” after day 2 or 3 of the procedure, I thought for sure something had gone wrong. Nope…I just needed patience. However, if this is something you are considering, please take adequate time off to heal—and do NOT do it right before a major event! I’m now about 3 1/2 months out and…well…as they say, “A picture is worth a thousand words!” Also, I continue to see positive results and confidently believe I will keep seeing them. If I notice anymore improvement (say around 6 months or so), I will be sure to add more pictures. A HUGE THANK YOU to Dr. Maguire, Marilyn, Kelly, and the entire staff!!! It’s not an understatement to say you all have changed my life!
An incredible experience that compares to no other. Dr Maguire has to be the kindest most sincerely caring physician I have ever met. From the absolutely beautiful facility that is conveniently and privately located, professional friendly and polite staff, to the talented and knowledgeable Dr Maguire, I could not ask for more.
I am 21 yrs old, 2 kids (c-sections). I gained 100lbs throughout the pregnancies and lost 50lbs after having my last child. I had my first consultation for a tummy tuck with Dr. Maguire earlier this summer. A week or two later, I scheduled my surgery. I had my pre-op consultation on 09/03/21 where he took another look at me, answered my questions and gave a summery of the procedure. His assistant gave me healing supplements, took my before pictures, and gave me written instructions of what to do before and after the procedure. I am so pleased with Dr. Maguire and his team. This facility is so cleans, always smells good, has nice and oriented team members, and best of all, they offer everything under the same roof. I am currently 3 days from my procedure, I’m so excited and a little nervous too. This surgery will take place at Premier Surgery Center of Louisville. I will take a covid test tomorrow 09-07-21. This surgery center has been very nice, answering all my questions, keeping me updated, and contacting me with information about the procedure. I should be receiving a pre-op phone call from a nurse a day prior to surgery. So far my experience has been great, and I know I’m in good hands. Updated on 13 Sep 2021: I went for surgery on 09-09-21 at Premier Surgery Center of Louisville, with Dr. Sean Maguire. Everything went smoothly. Dr. Maguire is straightforward, professional, kind, and cares for his patients. His team is oriented, kind, helpful, and very professional. The surgery center’s team is also very kind and professional. I’ve had a great experience so far. Today I took a shower early morning and feel much much better. My pain level has decreased and I am draining a lot of fluids. My incision is so far back, which I am so thankful for, because it took so much loose skin from my sides. I am in love with my bellybutton too! I’m so thankful that I found Dr. Maguire and his practice. Updated on 15 Sep 2021: Today is day 5 post up. Had my consultation because my drains fell out too soon. Dr. Maguire removed the fluid that was accumulated right around my incision area. 50 cc was resting right there!!! I felt so uncomfortable, bloated, my stomach felt weird, jiggly, and it would make water sound when I did rapid movement. Crazy! After the in office drainage with a needle, I feel way better. Dr. Maguire also removed some of the stitches surrounding my bellybutton. My next consultation is on Thursday (day 7 post op). He will be removing the remaining stitches, removing fluids if needed or insert a catheter if I’m producing too much fluids. So far I feel good, pain is like on a 3-4. Not even that, it’s just discomfort, and weird sensation to the area. Still feeling sore on the abdomen. This pics are of today, before I got the seroma drained. Updated on 15 Sep 2021: So today I’m 5 days post-op without drains. My drains have fallen. I have no clue as to how. My last one fell 2 days ago. It has been really hard moving around, dressing, showering, anything basically with them. I guess the compression garment and the parties were pulling on them (had to wear panties because my period decided to show up smh). Well today, I have to go to see Dr. Maguire to check for possible seromas. Which I’m pretty sure I have. I feel more swollen than day one, and I feel uncomfortable when I touch my lower abdomen. I was draining 40-60cc every couple of hours, so I’m sure I have built up fluids inside because I was still draining a lot when my drains came out. I’m now able to stand up a little more, although it feels weird and I’m scared too because my skin feels tight. I try to stand rect little by little each day. Sleeping on an angle is getting more uncontrollable by the day, specially since I don’t have a recliner, and I have to improvise with wedge pillows. Regarding the results, I’m very satisfied. A learning surgeon was present during my surgery and took pics. She was so kind of showing me and even told me 8lbs of fat + skin was removed. So I feel 8 lbs lighter lol!!! Regardthe pain, I’m doing ok with advil. I don’t feel much pain now, I feel discomfort and soreness on my abdomen from the muscle repair. My scar is healing beautifully, it’s starting to itch, which I’ve hear that’s normal and good. I let my incision dry out twice a day, while my garment is in the washer. I don’t like having it covered up all the time because I don’t want it to get sweaty. I also been cleaning it with hibiclens, and blow drying it with cold air. I’m looking into good quality and surgeon approved scar silicone gels for the appearance of the scar. I know I have to wait about 3 more weeks until I can start messing with it. But, honestly, I feel like I have been reborn. Very content and satisfy with Dr. Maguire and his practice. Very thankful! Updated on 5 Oct 2021: I’m 2 days from being one month post-op. I feel great, no major pain. I have a little discomfort around the incision, the area is very sensitive. I had a lymphatic massage yesterday and the massage therapist said my skin was still very tight. Swelling has gone down tremendously, there’s still a little bit around the incision. Specially since I had complications with a seroma. My scar has healed beautifully. I will start using a scar cream probably around week 5. I’m back to my normal everyday life. I even carry my babies. Not all day long, but I do carry them a little. I’m not exercising yet, I want to start after my 6 weeks mark. I’m a little scared to exercise because I feel like I will break something. Feels super weird to see my stomach sooo flat. It has never been like this, not even before kids and at a healthy weight. But I definitely want to take care of my body, because this procedure is not easy and it’s not cheap. Regarding Dr. Maguire and his practice, THEY ARE AMAZING. I am forever grateful to them all. Everyone there is so kind and helpful. I have been a difficult patient (not intentionally) and I have received the best customer service ever! I definitely recommend this place. And I will most definitely be back to see Dr. Maguire for other touch ups.
I have gotten Dysport injections three times here so far. I am in my 20's and do not have significant wrinkles yet, but I have hereditary droopy eyebrows so I like to get Dysport between and under the brows for a lift and a more awake look. Updated on 20 Mar 2023: I have gotten a liquid brow lift here at least 5 times now. I love the results for my hooded eyes. The office is lovely, smells great, and all the staff is super friendly. I always get my lips and dysport done here.
After I was not happy with lip injections from another doctor who used Belotero, I decided to try Dr. Maguire and I am so glad I did! The first time I had injections, it was one of the most painful experiences I'd ever had, but Dr. Maguire used a formula that had lidocaine, so the pain was very minimal. I especially liked that he was the one who did my injections, instead of a nurse. Although they are not fully healed yet, I am so excited about them. I didn't want them to look too big, but also not too natural and I think he got the perfect size for my face! Thank you Dr. Maguire!
I’ve wanted larger breast since middle school. I am now 28 years old. Sean McGuire and his team did a wonderful job. My pain at a 2. **** Something I didn’t read about and that I wish I was warned about.... going outside. I had my surgery done on Friday Morning. Saturday night I decided to grab a bit out to eat. It was very cold when we left the restaurant. Naturally I started to shiver, my chest started to spasm and create the worst pain. Updated on 21 Jan 2019: I had my surgery Friday morning. It’s Monday and I’m headed back to work. I’m in slightly more pain. But, I have also dropped down to a 1/2 of pain pill every 6 hours. Before I was take 1 every 4 hours. My breast are still swollen.
I'm 5'1 about 120lbs. I never had much of a chest and breast feeding 2 kids didn't help. I was a 34 a to b with plenty of gap in the cups. I gained over 50lbs each time I was pregnant. My kids are 6 and 12 now so I got back into the gym for my health. I decided to get implants to be more proportional and feel better in my clothes. My husband was hesitant at first but is now on board with my decision. I had 375cc silicone placed under the muscle. The procedure went well and I have had little pain, mainly tightness. So far I am pleased with the result. Updated on 19 Aug 2017: So far so good. The swelling is starting to go down and not experiencing any pain. Stopped painkillers by the third day.My left incision is a little tender but still bearable. Updated on 2 Sep 2017: They are finally starting to drop. Have more pains in the left breast. Nipples still super sensitive. I'm really happy with how they look so far. Updated on 2 Sep 2017: About a 34b on a good day and still with gaps. No upper pole fullness at all.
Dr. Maquire and his staff were very professional. All of my questions and concerns were thoroughly addressed during my consultation. I especially appreciated that I was never pressured to make an immediate decision.
I am 28 years old mother of two, during my pregnancies I gained too much weight and lost it afterwards, as a result my breast were left saggy and my aereola was huge. I had a breast augmentation hoping that would fix the issue my initial implant size was 325 not worth it and had to re do the surgery just now. This time around the surgery went great, I had a benelli lift and he also made horizontal incisions under my breast, I don't know why the surgeon did this but they came out great, this time I choose the 600 cc implant size and I am very happy with the results so far its only one week aftermy surgery but they are healing great . Will post pictures soon !!
Honest and so trust worthy! There are so many plastic surgeons in the area that it's so difficult to know which one is right for you. I researched for months and made numerous appointments with several dr's. It boils down to the gut feeling and who you feel most comfortable with, and Dr. Maguire is a perfectionist so there was no doubt in my mind. He'll make you beautiful no matter your age. He knows his stuff and will be the only surgeon I will go to from here on out.
At two weeks, you still have significant swelling. This is normal and it is way too early to make any judgements about the results. Swelling in fact could account for all of your concerns- overprojected, overrotated tip and the appearance of the upper lip/philtrum. Try to be patient and follow up with your surgeon to address your concerns.
Based on your photos it is difficult to say. It is also way too early to make any judgements about your rhinoplasty. It can take 6 months or more before all swelling resolves- it's possible that you have some asymmetric swelling that makes it appear crooked. I would NOT apply pressure or try to move the bones of the nose manually; things are still healing. I would recommend that you follow up with your surgeon to have him address your concerns.
Thanks for your question. Most absorbable sutures used in rhinoplasty will resolve within 7-10 days. Depending on the type of sutures used, it could take longer. Also, it's likely that you have some dried, crusted blood or mucous around the incision lines that you may be feeling. I would encourage you to follow up with your surgeon to have him address your concerns. Best of luck.
Thanks for your question. It appears you still have significant tip swelling 2 months post surgery. This is fairly common, especially if the rhinoplasty was done "open". Swelling can take 6 to 12 months to completely resolve. Best of luck.
I'm sorry to hear you are so distressed by this. Based on the photo you provided, it looks to me that your main issue is a lack of volume under the eyes and in the mid cheek area. For some individuals, particularly those that have thin faces to begin with or have lost weight and therefore volume in their face, there is a tired appearance owing to the lack of volume. This leads to an under-eye hollow and a flattened appearance of the cheek. This could be improved with the use of dermal fillers- injections performed in the office using a hyaluronic acid gel filler. Other filler options include Radiesse, Bellafill or Sculptra. Consult a plastic surgeon or cosmetic dermatologist with extensive experience using fillers in this area.
