I am 20 days post breast uplift + augmentation surgery. Please advise if the fold in the areola on my right breast is something that should right itself or requires earlier intervention. I am also rather disappointed that the areolas are different sizes - both being teardrop shaped + larger than I had hoped for. I had an inverted T shaped lift with 345cc round textured silicone implants, to correct big saggy and empty breasts from 3 pregnancies and breast feeding. The breasts themselves look OK!

I answered a question from you earlier, but this question includes photos--Thanks!The "crease" you see is secondary to traction from the skin closure. Though every one of my colleagues is correct in stating it is early in the healing process and things will change, I do believe that a revisionary surgery will ultimately be necessary for improved symmetry and smaller, more circular areolas.Your overall results look pretty good, and it's easy for any of us online consultants to say OUR skin pattern or design or results would be better. That might even be a true statement in some cases, but I do believe that once healing has progressed to a softer, stretched, and more "final" shape and position, revision of the areolas can be carried out to nicely improve your results. Your own surgeon would probably be in favor of this as well, though there are always a few who will "refuse" to see your concern and tell you that "everything is fine." (Which is "read-between-the-lines" for "Go away, I don't want to re-operate," or "This is going to cost you [$$].")Yes, I think the pattern could have been cut a bit better for an improved appearance.But in reality, once things have healed and softened for a few months, a local anesthesia operation can like make both areolas smaller, more circular, and without the crease. Talk with your surgeon, and remember, a kind understanding patient who appreciates her surgeon's good work (we're not perfect, you know, and we DO want the best outcome possible for ALL our patients) rather than angry, blaming, and expectation of "free" redo surgery patient gets a better and less costly re-do. Good question, you are way to easrly to allow for a revision even if it will be needed, allow 3 months to pass and then re evaluate. Good lukc in your recovery.
