For most people who receive enough protein in their regular diet, there would be little added value of a protein shake. I recommend my patients eat a well-balanced diet prior to and after surgery.
Thanks for your inquiry. It is important to get protein in your diet to heal well. Most people who eat a balanced diet get adequate protein intake. I would tell you that the protein we consume usually takes 2-3 weeks to be properly processed by the liver to make it most useful for wound healing. Thus, I would recommend if you are trying to increase your protein intake to start it at least 2-3 weeks before surgery. Good Luck.
Unless you have a specific known protein or nutritional deficiency, increasing your dietary protein is not going to speed up your recovery from breast augmentation. The idea of high protein seems to make sense for muscle repair but as long as your dietary protein intake is normal, extra protein will not really help.
I think that a balanced diet is the key to proper nutrition. I do not usually suggest to patients to eat different foods. I do like them to take Vitamin C and a multivitamin if possible. Best to ask your surgeon his preferences.

A doughnut breast lift, also known as a periareolar lift, involves removing a doughnut-shaped piece of tissue around the areola to lift and reshape the breast. This procedure typically includes resizing the areola, which can actually reduce the size of the areola if desired. However, the...
It’s essential to consult your surgeon before starting any workout routine post-surgery. Once you have approval, consider gentle exercises like pelvic tilts, leg slides, or walking to aid recovery. Avoid strenuous ab workouts initially and gradually incorporate them as advised by your h...
This is something that you will have to discuss frankly and in detail with your surgeon. I have patients fly in for surgery all the time, but it takes a lot of planning and forethought on both my part as well as my patients'. Most of this involves what to do in the eventuality of a...
It is always diffiult to provide adivice based only on photographs but I would suggest that you return to your surgeon soon to review what has happened since you started this wound care. The medial breast appears quite red and I would be worried that you might have an infection in that area (if...
