What kind of tape is used to tape your nose after a rhinoplasty?

I just got my cast off and was advised by my surgeon to tape my nose every night. The tape he gave me some how became misplaced and i need to purchase more. What is the proper name for it? Any suggestions on where i could purchase it?!

Individual surgeons have their own preferences for the type of tape used after rhinoplasty.  Please contact your surgeon's office to see what he or she specifically recommends.

Post operative treatment regiments are highly variable among surgeons. Many do not employ taping in the postoperative period. Some surgeons use tape to control tissue adherence and swelling. The type of tape varies from steri strips and 3M paper tape to elastic tape. I suggest you contact your surgeon to adhere to his/her routine.

Taping is used by many rhinoplasty surgeons to reduce swelling after the split is removed from the nose.  Not every surgeon uses the same tape, and your surgeon may prefer a particular tape over another.  I would recommend calling your surgeon's office to inquire about the specific tape he/she prefers.  Best of luck in your recovery!

Taping is a valuable adjunct to rhinoplasty.  Many of us use either Medpore paper tape from 3M or Blenderm a clear more elastic tape from the same manufacturer

Check in with your surgeon for the tape he wants you to use.  Most likely, it is a paper take which sticks well but is gentle to the skin.
