Can a 17 year old get tear trough filler? (Photo)

Question

(Sorry for my bad English) I'm 17 and I don't like my tear through they make me look so tired.If I look of pictures of me when I was 5-7 I could still sss that I had tear through. I want to hide it with make up but I can't. It makes me look tired and like I'm serious. Most of my friends don't have them so it makes me feel self conscious. They look all nice in pictures but even when I smile I notice them and is really noticeable when I'm in the sun.

Hi 13445.  Your situation is not entirely unusual.  In some cases, the need for tear trough injections comes about because of fatty tissue loss as we age.  In other cases like yours, the shape of the facial anatomy means that even at a young age you might benefit from the procedure. Yes you can physicically get filler, and this may be an option, however anyone under 18 years of age needs to be accompanied by an adult who approves of the procedure and consents to it.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Any medical or aesthetic procedures for those under the age of 18 would require parental consent. As long as you and your parents are comfortable and understand the risks and benefits of the procedure that should be okay.

they are injected for correctable problems irrespective of age...but there's always the issue of whether treatment can solve your other issues...sometimes we mistakenly focus on problems only to find out later that there's really some other reason for our distress...so off to the doctor for a discussion...however because of your age, parental consent is necessary...so take your parent(s) to the doctor and go from there...good luck
