I have Becker nevus on the left side of my chest. Can it be removed? (Photo)

This is a good question and thank you for the picture! Unfortunately by surgically removing the lesion you will be left behind with a large evident scar.  However, in our office we take a multi-device approach. We treat the hair first with a laser hair removal laser, and then pigment laser for brown color (Alexandrite laser). The order of treatment is laser hair removal then the pigment laser.  By combining these treatments we are able to decrease the color and prominent hair in the area.  I recommend that you see a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has training on cosmetic procedures particularly lasers. Many treatments reported for Becker's but the best one is to reduce hair within the lesion. All other methods including Pico laser, fractional lasers, erbium lasers, surgery etc... not practical and are associated with a very high recurrent rate. One the birthmarks that are best left alone.
