Question

I feel like i am still so red and have lines from the laser on my upper lip. I am not very happy with the results in the lines around my mouth. The left side was the worst to begin with and you can see the lines are still there.

I recommend following up with your Doctor about after care. I recommend skin care with vitamin c, b5 hydrator, silicone based scar gels with growth factors and enzymatic washes with papaya enzyme. PDT therapy can help calm inflammation. Typically I recommend adding clear and brilliant, fraxel, viva 4-6 weeks after lasers to improve results along with microneedling/prp to get the best outcomes with texture and tone.  Please see an expert. It is common for patients to be pink after an erbium laser resurfacing. This slowly fades over several weeks, but in some can take several months to completely resolve. It is also common for patients to still see wrinkles at 2 weeks. The healing process is what makes the wrinkles go away and all of that healing can't take place in as little as 2 weeks. The redness after a deep resurfacing laser may take up to 3 months for the redness to fade. Topical steroids may help with post laser redness.  Follow up with your laser expert for further instructions. Laser resurfacing is one of the best treatments to improve the vertical lines around the mouth. If they were really deep before it is recommended to have several treatments depending on the outcome you desire.

Normal depending on the depth of resurfacing. As protocols most specialist will follow up their patients, especially fully ablative patients.
