Hi @leahkatiex! I would avoid dermal fillers and botox while pregnant and breastfeeding--there is not enough studies done. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Fillers are not contra-indicated during pregnancy. That said, any procedure has small risks (such as allergic reaction etc). Because of this, you may be advised to consider waiting until after pregnancy. Another consideration is that your face and lip volume will likely increase during pregnancy anyways, so you may not want to get fillers now just to find out it looks overdone in a few months.
There are no studies on having fillers while pregnant, but many women have fillers before finding out they're pregnant and have healthy pregnancies. I notify my patients about the risks and the decision is left up to them. Best, Dr. Emer
In this country, even when we know things are safe, the legal nightmares physicians face makes it difficult. While I can think of no real risk, I would not do the injection in my office. But if you can find a qualified provider, not some cheap deal, but a very good provider who has experience, then I can't see a risk, other than infection, which is very rare.
For obvious reasons, there have not been any clinical studies of the impact of dermal fillers during pregnancy. While there are bound to be situations where fillers have been performed on a national level on pregnant women accidently without any reported adverse events, the treatment is not worth the risk.
I would recommend against any neuromodulator (Botox, Dysport) or dermal filler treatment during pregnancy. There simply have not been any studies done to confirm the safety of these products during pregnancy.
the quick answer is no but it is probably very safe.. we dont do pregnancy testing on women before filler injections like we would on a woman who wants to start accutane..I dont think there is any data to show that it will affect a fetus .. but docs are afraid to do anything to a pregnant woman for fear of litigation
In my practice if you informed me of a possible pregnancy I WOULD NOT inject any fillers into your lips. But each injecting MD has their own standard of care...
That should be reasonable. Talk to your doctor to see if there are other concerns after going over you medical history.
Most fillers are protein or amino acids except couple of them. Which there is no side effects. But because there is no research aboy these procedures for pregnancy, I don't recommend it even though I know it does not have side effects.Thank youRamtin Massoudi, MD
Hi Dear Possibly is only bruise, try ice and Arnica or pineapple. Follow with your doctor Thank you Ramtin Massoudi, MD
Thank you for your question. It is too early at 1-day post-treatment to determine what your results will be as it takes up to 2 weeks for all swelling and bruising to resolve. I do advise injecting more than 1 syringe at a time as you want to avoid overcorrecting. However, this also depends on...
This could be caused by swelling. I find that it takes 2-4 weeks for filler to settle and the swelling to resolve. If you are still unhappy with the results after that time you can have it dissolved with hyaluronidase. Good Luck!
Thank you for your question. Are you exfoliating to try and rid your lips of the lines or to remove dry, dead skin from the lips? If you are exfoliating to remove the dryness, I would suggest to focus on getting moisture back in your lips. You can try applying aquaphor throughout the day and a...
You should start out with 1cc of juvederm filler or restylane filler and go from there. You do not want to overdo too much filler in the lips. It also depends on the look you are going for too. You can always add more filler to the lips if needed. Just remember if you are going to do your lips ...
Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. You have very full and symmetrical lips and would not recommend any treatment unless you desire them to be smaller where a reduction procedure can be done. As for your nose I would recommend a formal rhinoplasty with tip refinement to a...
