Hello, and thank you for your question regarding whether this is normal healing after a medial thigh lift. Thank you for your history and your pictures. Your picture of your medial thigh lift or thigh reduction is not normal healing. You must connect with your plastic surgeon. Your plastic surgeon needs to treat you- not a public forum like Real Self. It appears that you have a scab with skin necrosis. It is difficult to tell if you have an infection. Signs of infection include fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, cellulitis, erythema, discharge, or pus draining from the wound. You should be placed on antibiotics and see your plastic surgeon every several days for wound monitoring. In terms of treating the wound, every plastic surgeon has a different special way to treat wounds like this. One such way is to paint the area twice a day with Betadine. Another treatment is to apply Bacitracin to the area twice a day. Depending on how the skin heals, you may need surgical debridement of the wound. That means the dry scab and skin necrosis area may need surgery. The remaining hole may need to be resutured. Alternatively, you may need wet-to-dry dressings once the area is cut out. Either way, you must consult your plastic surgeon regarding wound care. Also, you should consider hyperbaric treatment daily and IV infusion of NAD and vitamins. Good luck. I hope I’ve answered your question regarding how to treat your medial thighs 3 weeks after thigh lift surgery. I hope that I have answered your questions regarding the thigh reduction. If you have any more questions regarding the thigh lift, thigh reduction, vertical thigh lift, medial thigh lift, spiral thigh lift, crescent thigh lift, or thigh lipo, contact an experienced plastic surgeon. Please seek an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing thigh lifts. Do your research. Make sure your chosen plastic surgeon has performed at least 100 thigh lifts. Make sure they have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen, MD, MBA.
