Can I get a lip lift when there is filler in my lips?

Is it advisable to get a lip lift when there is filler in my lips, or would it be better to wait until the filler has been absorbed?

Yes, you can get a lip lift with filler present in the lip.  If it's a lot, it may be advisable to dissolve it.  If it is just a syringe, it shouldn't be concerning.

Thank you for your question. It would be best to wait until the majority of the filler has been broken down. Moreover, the surgery will cause lip swelling, and filler would contribute to additional swelling. I hope this is helpful, and I wish you all the best.

Filler will increase the volume of the lip but does not change the distance between the nose and upper lip. A lip lift can be done even with the filler present. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners.

Hi PB86,I recommend patients to get their lip filler dissolved prior to undergoing a lip lift. By dissolving the filler, it shows your baseline lip anatomy and that allows me to do the optimal lip lift for your anatomy. Alternatively, you can wait until you lip filler goes away.
