I am 5'8, 150 pounds, curvy through hips/butt. I had a full anchor lift last year and now I'm going in for stage two of having implants, my dr wanted to do it in two stages because of the degree of my sagging. I have chosen 575cc mentor mod plus silicone under the muscle and now I'm starting to panic that it will be to big.. I just want to balance my body.
Answer: Go Big or Go home........................NOT! Based on your photos, it appears as though you have a great deficiency in the upper pole of your breasts. It also looks like more than a few years have elapsed since your original "anchor" surgery. Personally, I like adding volume by way of an implant insertion when I perform my breast lifts. I feel that the eventual result gives a fuller more pleasing contour to the breast. That being said, throughout my 29 years of private practice, I have performed many breasts lifts without an implant insertion at the time. It seems to me that a 575cc implant is on the larger side. Remember that everything that goes up eventaully must come down and the bigger the implant the stronger the supporting tissues must be in order to keep it in place. Your breasts contain stretch marks and therefore I would caution you against placing too big of an implant.Although sizers can give a patient a fair-good representation of what they might look like post-op, it is simply that.... a representation. Without having the benefit of examining you and evaluating skin and soft tissue, texture, elasticity and taking measurements,it's very difficult to come up with a concrete answer as to what size will best suit you. I wish you the best.

Answer: Breast implant size In my own practice we keep silicone gel implants of all sizes available for patients to try on in a testing bra. This is not a perfect teaching tool because under the muscle implants tend to lose some projection, but because my patients look it actual implants on their frame I find it the most helpful. I encourage my patients to bring a friend or friends for a second or third opinion, and to bring a few different shirts. I suggest as you look at implants you think about the relationship between the width of the breast and the width of the shoulders and hips. Two wide will make you look top heavy, too narrow will make the breasts look like torpedoes. I personally like to see the outer curve the breast have balance with the curve of the hip. Once we hone in on the right diameter we then look at the projection of the breast which changes the cup size. At the correct diameter we can use a high moderate or low profile implant depending upon the patients goals. Depending upon the starting situation, and the degree of droop we adjust accordingly

Answer: 575 cc implants Dear Suzi, Thanks for submitting your pictures. It is difficult to give you an appropriate answer without having the circumference measurements of your chest and breasts. From your pictures it appears that you are a B cup. Let's assume that you are a 34 B cup. A 575 cc implant will increase your cup size by almost 4 sizes, which means that you will end up with 34 DDD. If you are 36 B cup you will end up with 36 DD+. Is that what you had in mind ? For me it is excessive. A 34 D or 36 D looks to me more appropriate considering your body shape and structure. To acheive that size you will need 300cc or 350 cc implants respectively. Always, consult with board certified plastic surgeons and check the before and after pictures to make sure that you like the results. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: Breast Enhancement Surgery I like the two stage approach its very conservative, you obviously have very stretchy skin which is likely why your doc wants to use large implants to fill them out

Answer: I am 5'8, 150 lbs, do you think 575cc implants will be to big for me? Thank you for the question. Despite good intentions, online consultants will not be able to provide you with meaningful specific advice. Ultimately, in person consultation with well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons will be necessary. Careful measurements, dimensional planning, and careful communication will be key. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery (regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you're looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or “C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging may also be very helpful during this communication process. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery. I hope this (and the attached link) help.
