Will SMP now (light brown) be a problem later in life when my hair is gray/white?

One doctor's response on this site says, yes, it will be a problem--talk to your technician. I'm interested in more information--would light brown SMP now be a problem down the road? Also, has any doctor here SEEN SMP (applied as light brown) later--when the patient has gray or white hair? Thank you.

Roco101, No it would depend on the smp procedure, whether you are looking to go down the permanent or temporary pigment route. We offer an all organic ink from Beauty Medical, which is a temporary solution. It would also depend on the shade of gray. If your hair is salt and pepper color that works best. With regards to white hair it is not recommended to have smp done but with our temporary smp procedure the risk is minimized.

It is best to ask your doctor about long term issues with their specific SMP technique and pigment.  All clinics use different pigments and techniques.

Hair exits the scalp as white hair and then picks up the color from the sun. When we do SMP, we use a form of a gray color, so review people have a problem as their hair color changes.
