I am 5'8" and 130lbs. I had a dramatic weight loss several years ago which left my breasts with a significant droop. My dr recommended moderate profile cohesive gel under the muscle. I would like to go from a B cup to a D cup but honestly size is irrelevant as long as they are lifted and I would like good cleavage. I'm also not concerned about them looking "natural" but longevity is important. Will 520cc fill up my breasts enough to lose the droop? Should I be considering high profile?
Answer: Will 520cc cohesive gel moderate profile implant give enough lift? Thank you for your question and pictures. Let me first off say that this question is very common. The bottom line is that an implant does nothing to "lift" the breast from a literal standpoint. It does however, do certain things to the appearance of the breast to give the illusion of a lift. Please see the link provided of an example of a patient who had a straight augmentation without a lift and got the "appearance" of a lift. The large volume augmentation filled out the excess skin of the breast, allowing for more skin below the nipple to be visible, and thus giving the appearance of a lift. But the nipple position itself does not change. That being said, you have what I would consider to be a very normal nipple position and I think that you would do well without a lift. As for how much upper pole fullness you will be, that will depend on the size of the implant. With your current size, you have to be careful with what you are suggesting. I would estimate your breast size (guessing) to be around a B+/C now and with a 520 cc augmentation you are essentially going to at least a DD cup size (150-200 cc per cup size roughly), if not larger. In addition to this, you are also talking about choosing a large volume, moderate profile implant, which is going to have a wide width. If this width is wider than your chest, this is a poor choice. You need to have a consultation with a local board certified plastic surgeon. Get measurements of your breasts along with a thorough exam. Look at implants, try them on and figure out exactly what you are looking for in terms of volume, shape, dimension, etc. Only through this process can you truly understand what is appropriate for you and choose what you want based on your unique goals. Good luck and be safe!

Answer: Lifts with implants In general implants do not give the breast any lift. Implant increase the volume especially in the upper pole of the breast which can give the breast a youthful appearance.

Answer: The right size or you It is very difficult to determine the exact size and shape implant you will require to best match your ideal breast image without an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. Not just any board certified plastic surgeon, but one with many years of frequently performing breast augmentation surgery including different approaches, techniques and implant choices. This is because several measurements not to mention your breast characteristics are needed to determine the optimal implant size to obtain your goals. Without knowing these dimensions it would be difficult to make this determination. For example, the existing base width of your breast will determine, in many cases, the maximal volume per implant profile that you can accommodate. To illustrate; a 100 cc difference may make a significant difference with a narrow base width breast, but much less of a difference if you have a wide chest wall and wide breast “foot print”. Therefore, just because your friend may have a great result with let’s say a 350 cc implant to make her go from a “A” cup to a “C” cup size does not mean that you will have the same result with the same size implant. . Further simply placing implants in a bra to determine the size best for you is not always accurate as the bra often distorts the size, is dependent on the pressure the bra places plus the implant is outside your breast and not under it among other variables. Computer software morphing programs that automatically determine the best implant size can be helpful in some but not all cases (e.g. doesn’t work well in my experience with existing implants, sagging or asymmetric breasts). Using “want to be” photos however are useful if simply provided to the surgeon as I will further explain in the below link

Answer: Implant Sizing Hello,This can only be answered after examination and a thorough discussion. If you want longevity, it is important to biodimensionally determine the best implant size for you. Stop thinking in cup sizes, it can't be guaranteed, and it is irrelevant in how you look. Instead, in office sizing in front of the mirror to determine you aesthetic goal. Seek out ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons who specialize in cosmetic breast surgery.Best of luck!

Answer: Will 520cc cohesive gel moderate profile implant give enough lift? I think that 520cc's will be more than enough you fill out your breast envelope. It will also give you upper breast fullness. I would not suggest high profile implants, since they have a smaller base diameter, unless the 520 cc implants measure too wide for your breast dimensions. Good luck!
