This office has the nicest staff I think I have ever met. Dr Buchanan is amazing and was available for me anytime I needed to talk to him when he wasn't in surgery. I would definitely use him again for Breast Reconstruction if I ever needed it again.
If I could give him 10 stars I would. I searched through numerous surgeons the last couple years and finally found my very own surgeon as these things are very individual and you need to feel comfortable with the person. I never felt body shamed or rushed. He only listened and provided education on certain procedures I was not aware about that could give me an even better result. I wanted to do a lift and a tummy tuck. I wanted nice breast but didn't want to sign up myself to another surgery down the road or potential issues with implants, so that was off the table. I realized lift would not give me as much volume as implants but would be better than what I have today. He offered me an auto augmentation with fat transfer for enhanced result and he was the only doctor who didn't tell me that was going to go a size down in my bra. He was also the only surgeon who didn't tell me a low scar was impossible since I'm relatively skinny and there is not that much skin to remove. He offered a potential vertical scar for my belly button and a super low main scar which was the biggest concern. However!!! I don't even have the vertical scar! He does art with his work and he will do his very best with what he is given. Obviously everyone's result will not be the same but I guarantee whatever best result is possible with your body, he is the only one who can achieve it and possibly even surprise you with your expectations. He is clear and honest about what you can expect but he tries his very very best to exceed them. He truly is the best. Post surgery you don't feel like he doesn't care anymore, he is always available for you and your questions or concerns which is so important to me. I still haven't opened the scar tapes but I already love my body. The recovery was great. I was prepared for a lot worse. Day 2 I was walking with walker and pain medicine helped to where there was no pain at all. I did feel sleepy a lot but I took 30min to an hour naps, otherwise was trying to walk and be as active as possible while careful with my body. He is confident, reputable (I haven't found a single negative review about his work), polite, professional, caring and the list goes on. They have an onsite medspa which is led by his wife Michelle who is the sweetest person. I will be going to her later on for microneedling to help the scars. They are an amazing family owned business. Thank you Dr Buchanan!!!
Dr. B was very thorough from our first consultation and was patient and willing to answer any questions throughout the whole process even up to day of surgery when I was still questioning size. His office staff is excellent, pleasant, and very helpful from beginning to end. I started with very little breast tissue but wanted a more natural look, and I’m ecstatic with my results! Highly recommend!
Dr. Buchanan performed my ftm top surgery, and it was as easy and comfortable an experience as possible from start to finish. The whole staff was friendly and knowledgeable, clean and cozy office, fast appointments, and the surgery was a huge success. I'm very pleased and grateful for the excellent care I received before, during, and after the operation.
It was great! They did a very good job, I am veryyy happy with my results. Everyone who works there is very nice and comforting, makes sure that you’ll get the results you want! Id definitely give a 10/10!
Dr. B is so thorough and attentive. From the consultation to every post op appointment he is so organized and puts me at ease. The surgery itself took a while because he is extremely meticulous and a perfectionist. Love my results. Highly recommend!!!
I am extremely grateful I found and went with Dr. Buchanan for my breast augmentation. When searching online for board certified surgeons in the Tampa area, it can seem overwhelming where to start and who to schedule a consultation with. When I landed on Dr. Buchanan's website and reviews, it seemed clear he stood out from the rest. I am so appreciative of the staff their office has. Jess and Marlie were friendly and helped me feel super comfortable throughout the process. I am a fairly modest person and desired a natural looking breast augmentation. I wanted something noticable to me but not to others. I was nervous to go too conservative and not make it worth the procedure but modest enough so that others could not instanly tell. Throughout each visit, I felt Dr. Buchanan took time to understand what I desired and answered everything completely. I never felt rushed yet at the same time he helped me quickly understand what I wanted (which seemed daunting and I was so unsure). After trying on sizes and hearing my desires, he suggested I go with 385 cc MP Sientra 107 implants. I am super pleased with my results. They are exactly what I wanted! I have no regrets and am so excited to have the shape and size I went with. I highly recommend Dr. Buchanan and his staff if you are looking for a breast augmentation.
Decided on a breast augmentation to increase my original size to either a full C or D. I wanted fuller looking boobs with more upper pole. I decided on 385CC HP, over the muscle. My stats are - 5'6 145 LBS Updated on 1 Apr 2023: Exactly what I asked for!
After researching several local surgeons & reading endless reviews looking for the best surgical Dr possible…I was drawn to one Dr/practice in particular. Dr Dallas Buchanan/Vivify plastic surgery was my top choice for my recent surgical procedure & I knew right from the very first contact with his practice that I had without a doubt made the right decision! He is kind, caring, and most importantly confident & skilled in his abilities to help you achieve your desired goals. I felt very comfortable from my very first meeting & throughout the entire process. The staff he surrounds himself with are just the most amazing people…special shout-out to Jess & Kristen who truly made me the most at ease with everything along the way. I am happy with my results thus far & grateful to be in the best hands going forward. This doc is truly amazing!
I had an arm lift in November 2022 and Dr. Buchanan did a fantastic job. Very involved and supportive staff. I'm scheduled for a lower body lift in a few months, and I am sure that will be a great experience as well with fabulous results.
Thank you for your questions. To be honest, it is hard to know. Generally when doing a tummy tuck, I use long-term absorbable suture rather than permanent suture. If dissolvable suture causes a problem it will resolve with time. But if permanent suture causes a problem, it becomes a permanent problem. So it is possible that if there is still permanent suture in place, it might be causing a problem. That being said, there is no assurance that going back in to remove that suture will correct or reduce the pain. Pain is complicated and can be also from nerve damage or injury that might be unrelated to the suture material. I would say that if the pain is unbearable to live with, then you could consider revision surgery to remove sutures or scar tissue, but be prepared going into that surgery that there is no assurance that it will improve things and its possible it could make things worse, you just never know. Best of luck! Dallas Buchanan, MD VIVIFY plastic surgery Tampa, FL
Thank you for your pictures and questions. Generally speaking, I would never turn away a patient based on weight alone. It is just a number, kind of like age. Evaluating a patient to be a good candidate for surgery is based on several factors, and there are no hard and fast rules (with some exceptions). If a surgeon turned you away, it was likely because they came to the conclusion that the risks of surgery for you were too high to proceed. With patients who are underweight, the concern would be that if they were malnourished, they would not have the capability to heal properly after surgery. This could be evaluated prior to surgery with some basic lab work to alleviate any concerns. I would suggest you schedule a consultation with a plastic surgeon who is willing to take the time to discuss your case and go over concerns and do whatever it takes to achieve your result while minimizing risk and optimizing your ability to have an amazing outcome. Thank you for your pictures and questions. I think you need to revisit the concepts involved in the revision and rethink your goals. It appears to me that the muscle is causing problems, so I would get it out of the picture and transition to a pre-pectoral implant pocket. I would strongly recommend use of soft tissue support mesh (Galaflex) to prevent recurrent stretch and strengthen the soft tissue envelope as it is weakened from multiple revisions. In addition, I would recommend a revision of the lift for better symmetry as well as transitioning to a more cohesive gel device. Hope this helps! Dallas Buchanan, MD VIVIFY plastic surgery Tampa, FL
Thank you for your pictures and questions. These types of revision procedures can be difficult to perform and to predict how the procedure heals. In addition, your history of weight loss means that that skin is damaged and not prone to healing in predictable ways. Right now it appears that the nipple-to-fold distance is too long and there is some degree of "pseudoptosis" of the breast. This is why the nipple appears too high - it is not that the nipple is too high but that the implant is too low in relation. The fold needs to be reconstructed. The flatness is a result of the mesh not being placed in a way that allows for expansion of the lower pole over time. And I think if you have excess skin and want to be larger overall, you would probably benefit from a larger and more projected implant (not sure if you current 310 is moderate profile but I would guess yes). Thank you for your pictures and questions. Although the quality of the photos you shared are not ideal, I would say that the scars you have are very well within what I would consider "normal" post surgical scarring from the procedure you had. Are some people's scars better? Possibly. Have I seen some much worse? Absolutely. If you are concerned about the contour or the color of the scar there might be options to discuss with your surgeon for improvement such as scar camo tattooing, injections, microneedling, etc. But generally any attempts at surgical correction of scars this reasonable will not likely yield significant improvement.
