JUVEDERM XC ULTRA: 1 vial: What are tiny white bumps all along the injection line in my upper lip?

Question

I went to MD who said it doesn't look like "occlusion" and that it may be the product? I have always had Restylane done for past 7 years- this time, the injector used Juvederm XC Ultra. I have gone back 3 times to dissolve with Hyaluranidase but STILL Juvederm everywhere. Each morning I wake up & my lips/cheeks are swollen/burning. My mouth is constricting/pinching/hardening. What are these little white (not clear) bumps under my top lip just along the line where there is still Juvederm? HELP.

It is difficult to say from this picture, if you are sure it was not there prior to treatment, then it is related to treatment. If however you are not sure, they may have pre existed and in this case would not be related to your injection and there are a variety of explanations for lesions like this. I would suggest you follow up with your surgeon if you do not see resolution.

Are you being treated by a board certified dermatologist?  These white bumps are clearly Fordyce spots, and were there before you had your treatment, but not as prominent as they are now...because the Juvederm has plumped your lip and allowed the oil glands to become more visible.  This is absolutely normal.  Hyaluronidase will not make them go away, and is likely the cause of the inflammation you now have causing your current symptoms.  Please see only qualified professionals who understand the anatomy of the lip area and of the skin itself.

The spots you are showing are FORDYCE'S SPOTS Present in most young adults. They are enlarged oil glands. No treatment is necessary. DO NOT allow any more injections of Hyaluronidase.Please consult a Dermatologist regarding your other symptoms
