I have been coming to this practice for a variety of things, and just recently started Botox with Kim. She does such a good job at keeping it natural looking. I have also had Dr. Mandrea for filler injections for my face. They also are constantly getting new procedures, I really want to try Coolsculpt, but I am going to have to save a little for that one.
Dr. Eugene Mandrea is an excellent doctor with years of experience. Dr. Mandrea is truly an expert and specialist in dealing with acne scarring. My acne scars have not completely gone away but their appearance is much much better than before and I am still going through treatments of the Pixel laser to improve them further. Dr. Mandrea has always been honest with me from day one in saying theirs nothing you can do to rid your scars completely but you can make them look better and less noticeable and he was right. It's been a long process doing laser treatments, subcision and some punch grafting but well worth it. In the city of Chicago you will find no other doctors as honest as him or that can perform procedures like punch elevation and or subcision correctly. I also finally manged to get clear skin, after about 5 years of jumping from dermatologist to dermatologist from some of Chicago's supposed best they couldn't even clear my skin. Dr. Eugene gave me Spirolactone and realized my acne was hormonal and my skin has never been more clear in my life. I often wander why no other dermatologist ever gave me this. Thanks Dr. Eugene and if anyone decides to start treatment remember to be patient. It wil ltake a long time before you see results depending on the severity of your scars, mine were very severe.
My dermatologist recommended it
I have suffered from acne for 12 years. I have seen Dr. M 4 times in the past 8 weeks. Dr M's treatment of my face and neck has been tremendously affective. {edited}
It has been almost a full week since my visit and the jury is still out. It has helped between my brows a little but only directly in the center and it had absolutely ZERO affect on my forehead. ZERO. Not to mention the fact that they advertise $13 per unit, only to be charged $14 per unit on my visit. They also have an offer for 50% off the first 20 units of Botox which I did not receive and when I inquired about it after I got home from my appointment on Realself I never received a response. I have a follow up appointment on the 27th so I'll have to see what this other doctor says about my results and the price discrepancy. I will write a full review then.
JUVEDERM seldom lasts up to one year. Most likely, the amount injected has already been absorbed by your tissues. An injury to a small blood vessel could have caused a hematoma (bleeding and clotting) but even that should have disappeared after one year.I suggest that you consult a University based Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon in your area in order to elucidate this problem.
Depending on your budget and the degree of improvement you desire, Hyaluronic acid (preferably long acting, such as Voluma), Radiesse or Sculptra, would be quite effective. You may need more than 1 or 2 vials at one time to get the best results.Applying sunscreeen to your face every morning may prolong the benefits of the fillers.
In the unlikely case that some of the Calcium Hydroxyapatite (Radiesse) went too deeply and a tiny amount touched the periosteum and attached itself to the bone, the deformity may take a long time to disappear.An Xray of both areas may help prove or disprove this possibility.
This is a "Good News/ Bad News" story.The good news is that your Surgeon was able to close the wound with a flap.The bad news is that the flap contains GREY hair where it doesn't belong.To solve this big problem, there are two options, in my opinion:1- Electrolysis, as suggested by Dr Weiner. The problem with electrolysis is that it is very time consuming, and multiple sessions are necessary. It is possible, however, that a receding "Hairline" may help slightly.2)Eflornithine cream ("Vaniqa) does slow the hair growth. It can be used in combination with the Electrolysis.There is a possibility that your Insurance may help pay for the Electrolysis (and the Vaniqa) since this is a "Side Effect" of your Surgery.Eugene Mandrea M D
The ELOS System delivers Radiogrequency and Intense Pulsed L:ight to the skin. The combination of the two, can heat up the hair follicles (roots) to the point of disabling them or destroying them. Also, some of the shallower pustules may be dried up- with this technique.We have had, however , good results with the Alexandrite Laser for lighter skinned African American patients and Neodymium YAG Laser for darker skinned African American patients regarding hair removal for Hidradenitis Suppurativa.Multiple treatments are necessary.Eugene Mandrea M D
