Is it safe to use peppermint oil infused lip gloss or peppermint oil directly on lips after Juvederm?

Hi,Thank you for your question.That should be fine to use. Typically we recommend simple vaseline or aquaphor which will help to hydrate dry lips after lip injection. The gloss/oil sits on top of the lip tissue and should not affect your final result.Hope this helps!

Peppermint is a natural anti-inflammatory but it also increases microcirculation to the lips (why it is a common ingredient to lip plumpers). If you are already swollen from lip injections, there is a slight chance it could enhance that. Other than that it will not effect the end results of your filler which occur 1-2 weeks after injection. Best of Luck!

I would wait at least a couple of days up to a week before using the peppermint oil.  The main reason is that the peppermint oil can dilate the tiny vessels in the lips and this can lead to more swelling.  It should not have any detrimental effects on the juvederm itself or your final result.  It may just cause more swelling in the short term.  I usually have patients use ormedic lip balm by Image Skin Care after lip filler because it is organic and nonirritating.  Any soothing balm should do the trick for a few days and then you can go back to the peppermint oil.
