I had Radiesse injected in my nasal folds 3 weeks ago. My entire face looks fat including my nose. It looks full and fat like when I was pregnant. I am very depressed, I don't even look in the mirror. I went to a Dermatologist, and she told me it will take about 2 years before it will go away. and maybe 12-16 before I see a slight change. She said she gets at least 10 patients a week coming in to see if this could be reversed. Is there anything I can do?
Answer: Recommend defusing radiesse Radiesse is a stimulatory filler that is an excellent option for patients who desire a longer-lasting filler alternative to hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. In our office, we use Radiesse to complement structural areas of the face and contour bony prominences. Our office also is a center of excellence for filler complication treatments and we see patients who have been treated by other doctors and have undesirable results from Radiesse or other long-lasting fillers. We have treatment options available for Radiesse filler nodules, granulomas, and soft tissue thickening. The first step would be to diagnose the nodularity and determine whether there is an option for surgical vs. non-surgical removal. Surgical excision is a possibility in some patients; whereas others with more diffuse fillers may benefit from intralesional therapy using scar modulators and enzymes and kenalog. Radiesse complications may be long-lasting and prompt action is key. Patients who have no access to an expert in the field should begin gentle massage of the areas of nodularity with Plato’s Scar Serum twice daily. RF and invasive lasers can actually do more damage by stimulating further collagen growth. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Radiesse Unfortunately, Radiesse is not a reversible filler. However, it is a very hygroscopic material which means it has a high capacity to attract water and cause a swelling effect even up to a month after the injection. So the good news is that you may still see some improvement if you think your nasolabial folds were overfilled as the swelling may continue to decrease. Furthermore, Radiesse does not typically last for 2 years. Rather, it’s likely that around the 9-12 month mark the effects will have decreased quite a bit. In the meantime, please don’t feel too down! Remember that there are many other and more important things that make you beautiful other than you nasolabial folds J

Answer: Radiesse metabolism Three weeks after injections you should not have any residual swelling, and unfortunately there is no way to reverse Radiesse. However, Radiesse does not last 2 years. On average, the metabolism for Radiesse is between 12-14 months. Massaging the area can "flatten" the product to some extent but you may not see much improvement. In the future, try a Hyaloronic based filler as there is a reversal agent for that product. For now, keep your head up, it will only last about a year.

Answer: Radiesse to the Nasolabial Folds Some of that puffiness is likely swelling around the injection site. Radiesse will gradually be broken down with time, so I bet that you'll be very pleased in the future. Good luck!

Answer: Reversing Radiesse Some of that puffiness could still be swelling. Radiesse will gradually dissipate and, in a few months, you may be much more pleased with the look. The notion of 10 patients per week asking for Radiesse to be reversed is a stunning number and makes me wonder with respect to injection technique.
