Hello,In our practice we often do IPL and 1540 non-ablative Fraxel in the same treatment. It is okay to have fraxel 1 week post IPL. The treatment combination of the two provides great results. IPL is great for the dark pigmentation and redness while fraxel resurfaces to stimulate collagen and treat fine lines and wrinkles. We typically recommend 2-3 treatments for optimal results. Good Luck!
I would definitely consult an expert in lasers since it really depends what setting you are having the Fraxel laser and what settings you were treated with the IPL. If it were for redness or Skin Tight settings with the IPL then it is fine to have Fraxel one week later. You should consult your treating physician for further explanation. Best, Dr. Green
Yes, it would be ok to have Fraxel one week after IPL. You could even have both IPL and Fraxel done on the same day if you had IPL first, assuming that everything else is normal.
Are you doing the treatments in the same area or different ones? There should be no issue if you're treating different areas, however for the same area I would be cautious to reduce the device setting to prevent excess side effects like redness. If your doctor scheduled your Fraxel for a week after IPL I would think he approves of this procedure- if it was your initiative however I would consult a specialist prior to treatment to avoid unnecessary side effects and prolonged downtime.
IPL can easily be combined with Fraxel- most specialist have been doing this for years- called pulse-fraxel in my practice. This saves you downtime, speeds recovery and gives you better results. Most patients only require one, at the most 2 sessions. So many advantages of combination therapies. Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
Your question underlines why it is so important to take your time to find a board-certified dermatologist who has expertise in resurfacing the face with Fraxel. A skilled professional will be able to resurface your entire face without affecting the eyebrows at all. You must alert him or her,...
These always come back although with lasers and desiccation its is less likely and microneedling helps too. Best, Dr. Emer.
Swelling's common with Fraxel especially the 1550nm setting. Hard to assess your swelling without a picture but I will say risk of infection is incredibly low with Fraxel given that it is nonablative. Regardless, they are covering you with abx and a systemic corticosteroid. Just continue to...
Without a photo, I cannot give you a specific answer. Fraxel Re:Pair or Re:Store may be sufficient to resolve your dark spots. You will have a reddened face for two weeks. However, many people who have hyperpigmentation require multiple therapies used in combination to completely resolve their...
A non-ablative fractional laser such as Fraxel does not reach deep enough in the tissue to cause any injury to the subcutis (fat layer). I would bring up any concerns you have with your doctor but you are ok on this one. Best of luck!
This is difficult to answer without before and after pictures and needs an in-person evaluation. A combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with neck wrinkles. I recommend fillers, botox, and lasers or radiofrequency. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic...
