I had fat transfer 8 weeks ago. Left breast completely soft but right beast is appx the same size maybe a little bigger and bigger but is is not soft like right side. It feels like a small baseball. Will this soften in time. Visited my Dr about a week ago and he said to wait for it to soften. Does this healing stage sound normal?

Answer: Firmness after breast transfer This sounds perfectly normal & likely just some of the fat having difficulty getting completely vascularized. The fat is a graft and has to develop a blood supply from the tissue where it is placed. This process will continue to evolve over several months. These areas almost always soften up. Massage may help speed this process along. Hope this eases your mind a little & best of luck!

Answer: Fat transfer to breasts Renquin,It is normal to have hardness in only one breast after a fat transfer. Only 70% of the fat transfer survives (at most). Some areas can get fat due to fat necrosis (fat that dies and is then swollen before it gets absorbed). It will take some time for the breast to heal, and they always do. Just relax, it takes some time for it to totally resolve.Good luck and keep following up with your surgeon.Dr T
