I hate my jowls, and my whole jawline. It sags and makes me look like a square shaped face. I want an oval. Doctors keep telling me to get fillers (which I've had before) I need something permanent. Should I get lower face lift ? Or would Lipo help better? I need my jawline more defined.
Answer: Better treatments than liposuction for you Thank you for your question. Liposuction would remove the submental fat underneath the chin, but would do little to address the skin laxity you appear to have. This would be most effectively treated with a surgical lift procedure. You might want to consider a chin implant as well, which could be placed at the same time as the facelift. This would add projection to your jawline and bring your profile into better proportion. I recommend scheduling a consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon for further assessment and a customized treatment plan.

Answer: Deep plane neck lift Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. Looking particularly at the view from below and the profile, my impression is that the main contribution to the contours of the jawline comes from below, predominantly from the layer of fatty tissue, muscle, and submandibular glands under the platysma. In general terms, because the contour of the jawline is relatively smooth, a deep-plane neck lift could address most, if not all, of your concerns. This procedure involves a conservative reduction of the supraplatysmal fat and a more extensive volume reduction of the fatty tissue, digastric muscles, and lower part of the submandibular glands under the platysma. A deep-plane neck lift is generally associated with a degree of skin tightening, although sometimes it works fine without additional skin tightening. This can only be properly evaluated in a consultation in person.

Answer: Jawline Definition / Jawline Enhancement / Facial Sculpting / Facial Contouring -- injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa For a more defined jawline to strengthen your profile (and help prevent the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa - a filler known to limit swelling and give subtle, soft enhancements - or Radiesse. Using a cannula to limit pain and swelling, we inject on the bone in strategic points to get more lift and shaping, resulting in a more contoured lower face and defined, structured jawline. I would suggest getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Altering lower face shape Hello and thank you for your question. I would first advise you to schedule a consultation with a certified plastic surgeon in your area. Fillers and toxins could benefit the shape of your lower face but if you are looking for more of a long term fix there are some surgical procedures which may benefit you! I would speak to your surgeon about both injectable and surgical options for a correction. Good luck to you!

Answer: Improved Jawline Definition The fundamental improvement can only come from a lower facelift with neck/jawline defatting. Regardless of what your underlying jawline bone structure is it simply can't be seen with the overlying thicker soft tissues. Your chin is also short so adding a chin implant with the facelift would be a good complementary procedure.
