My goal is to have front teeth that don't stand out as much but I'm not sure what to tell my dentist next. I'm tired of my front teeth being so prominent and I'm not sure if they are too big, the others are too small, or the shapes of the surrounding teeth are the main issue... I don't need perfect teeth but I do want them to be "even", I feel that the main issue is the shapes of the teeth surrounding the two fronts but I'm still not sure... Thank you.
Answer: Veneer guide Hello John, you might want to have your dentist/laboratory round the borders of your front teeth slightly. The squared appearance of your temporaries creates an unnatural look and draws more attention to them. If you are looking for a more causal or natural shape, this might be the way to go.

Answer: Ideal Proportions Yes, you have some valid concerns that seem like they should be relatively easy to correct. Ideally, your front two teeth should be identical, like twins. As you get further away from the center two teeth, they become less identical and shorter in length. The teeth should get shorter as you get closer to your molars following your lower lip line or a flatter U shape. It appears from your photo that your left front center tooth may be shorter than your right central. It is possible that this is due to your bite, hard to tell without more information. Perhaps you can speak to your dentist about your concerns or seek a second opinion? There is digital smile design technology that allows you to see different shapes of teeth in a photo of you and that photo can be used to create your temporaries and then ultimately your porcelain veneers. Try speaking to your dentist first and if you still are unhappy, try searching for a digital smile design dentist.

Answer: I have temporary veneers but hate my teeth. Can you advise me on what to do? (Photo) Your temporaries are too square and almost the same length. By rounding out the teeth and perhaps shortening some of the teeth, a more natural look is achieved. Express your concerns to your dentist and make sure you like the new look of the temporaries before the veneers are fabricated.

Answer: Temporary veneers too prominent If you're not happy with your temporaries it's very important to let your dentist know that before your permanent ones are made. Models and photos or your temporaries and adjusting either digitally or even drawing on the photos and relaying as much info to your dentist and lab will be critical in getting what you want. Often times it's as simple as rounding out some of the corners and slenderizing the outside dimensions of your temporaries to give a softer look. A good lab/ceramist should be able to look at your models/photos and make improvements which can be transferred to your temporaries so you can see what they look like. Make sure you like the changes in the temps before proceeding to the final veneers.
