I love my smile thanks to Dr P! After my braces, I had whitening and bonding to restore chipped and worn down teeth. Now, everyone says I have a beautiful smile, makes me want to always smile at people. Sometimes I am a little fat, or have a bad hair day, but I NEVER have a bad smile day. This gives me confidence everyday and for this I am super happy! Thanks Dr P - you’re the best!
Hello and thank you for your question. I guess the answer depends on what about your crowding you want to change. It appears in one of the head on photos that one your right lateral tooth (second tooth from center) is rotated inward. If in fact that is the case, this cannot be changed with bonding, but a veneer could change the angulation appearance of the tooth. Enamel is the hardest substance in your body, even harder than bone. Since your enamel has significantly worn on your left central tooth, there's a good chance that porcelain will be a longer-lasting restorative material choice. Lastly, it appears that your left gum tissue height is lower than your right when you express with a full smile, which is beautiful by the way, so if this is a concern, bonding will not be able to improve this, but a porcelain veneer with a soft tissue laser should be even this up. Just judging from the photos, either 4 porcelain veneers with diode laser treatment or 2 veneers with bonding on adjacent teeth may be a good option for you to give you great results.
Yes, you have some valid concerns that seem like they should be relatively easy to correct. Ideally, your front two teeth should be identical, like twins. As you get further away from the center two teeth, they become less identical and shorter in length. The teeth should get shorter as you get closer to your molars following your lower lip line or a flatter U shape. It appears from your photo that your left front center tooth may be shorter than your right central. It is possible that this is due to your bite, hard to tell without more information. Perhaps you can speak to your dentist about your concerns or seek a second opinion? There is digital smile design technology that allows you to see different shapes of teeth in a photo of you and that photo can be used to create your temporaries and then ultimately your porcelain veneers. Try speaking to your dentist first and if you still are unhappy, try searching for a digital smile design dentist.
