I'm almost 100% sure I have a (milder?) form of tuberous breast deformity and have consulted numerous surgeons in Seoul. Most of their answers are that my breasts aren't too bad and can be fixed with just implants. I doubt that it can be that simple. Or perhaps it can? I'd like to get more opinions and perspectives, because if I do need more steps (tissue expanders/lift/nipple repositioning, etc.) , I'd prefer to do the surgery elsewhere. (Australia being the nearest)
Answer: Tuberous breasts Your photos show limited views but do seem to indicate that you have mild tuberous breasts. In the hands of a qualified plastic surgeon should you wish larger breasts a breast augmentation will improve your appearance. Placement of the implants above the muscle (subglandular) is often the desired position selected by plastic surgeons. Finding the best one will be the most important decision to make.#tuberousbreasts#breastaugmentation#BA

Answer: Tuberous breast correction only with implants? Thank you for the question and pictures. I would agree with the plastic surgeons who have seen you in person; your breasts do not demonstrate many of the findings seen with constricted/tuberous breasts. I also agree that you should do well with breast augmentation surgery only. Tissue expanders and/or breast lifting should not be necessary.Ultimately, careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, in bra sizers, and computer imaging) as well as careful measurements (dimensional planning) will be critical. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. For example, I have found that the use of know words such as “natural” or "C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers.I hope this (and the attached link, dedicated to breast augmentation surgery concerns) helps. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Tuberous Breast Correction Hello Emma.L! From your pictures, I would say that you could achieve an excellent result with an implant behind the pectoral muscle through an incision either around the nipple or under the breast. If desired, nipple re positioning could be accomplished at the same time. The choice of saline or silicone would be your preference. Although a full consultation and examination would be needed for a definitive answer, it is unlikely that you would require tissue expanders to achieve your desired result. Good luck!
